MAJOR GIFT OFFICERS

The Shippensburg University Foundation is seeking dynamic, high-energy, self-motivated professionals with relationship building skills for two Major Gift Officer positions.  Founded in 1977, the SU Foundation coordinates all fund raising efforts from private sector resources for the benefit of Shippensburg University.   Our award winning fundraising program  has been recognized by our professional organization, CASE, receiving the Circle of Excellence-Wealth ID Award for Educational Fundraising for Overall Performance. The SU Foundation exceeded its last $40 million comprehensive campaign goal by securing over $50 million in commitments.   The SU Foundation currently is in the nucleus phase of a comprehensive campaign.

Major Gift Officers are responsible for the nurturing, solicitation, and stewardship of major donors. One Major Gift Officer position will focus on support for the H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center, the SU Fashion Archives, and other affinity constituent groups.  The other Major Gift Officer position will focus on support for athletics, sponsorships, and develop a corporate relations program.  Both positions report to the Director of Major Gifts.

Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent oral, strong written, and exceptional interpersonal skills. The successful candidates must possess a proven fund raising track record or comparable marketing/sales experience. Three years experience in fund raising or related field is required, or combination of education/work experience to equal above. Bachelor's degree required, masters preferred. Requires both regional and national travel.

The SU Foundation periodically has openings for positions in Major Gifts, Annual Fund, Development, Finance and Administration, the Child and Family Center and administrative support staff.

Every year our phonathon callers (Shippensburg students who are part-time employees of the SU Foundation) conduct a series of important telephone campaigns to raise support for the Annual Fund and other special projects.  More information
